Built for DFW

Custom patio covers built for Fort Worth weather

Texas summers are beautiful — right up until it's 105 degrees and there's nowhere to sit outside. A custom patio enclosure gives your backyard real shade, real shelter, and a space your family actually wants to use year-round.

We design and install patio covers, pergolas, screen enclosures, and full outdoor living spaces for homes across Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield, and the entire west DFW corridor. Our patio division operates under the PergolaGuy brand, which has been building covered outdoor spaces in the Metroplex for years — so you're not starting with a company that has never seen a Texas summer.

We start with a free in-home estimate at your property. No generic pricing over the phone — your backyard is different from your neighbor's, and the estimate should reflect that. We look at the existing slab or deck, your home's architectural lines, and what you actually want to do with the space.

From there, we handle permit pulls where required. Tarrant County, Fort Worth city limits, and most DFW suburbs have specific requirements for attached structures. You don't chase permits. We do.

FAQ

Patio questions answered

The questions Fort Worth homeowners ask before starting a patio project.

How much does a patio cover cost in Fort Worth?

Basic insulated patio covers start around $8,000. Pergolas and custom aluminum structures run higher depending on size and materials. We offer 12 months same-as-cash financing or 10% off with cash on projects over $8,000. You get a firm number at the in-home estimate — not a range that changes when we show up.

How long does patio cover installation take?

Most single-structure patio covers — insulated aluminum, Alumawood, or a standard pergola — are installed in 3–7 business days once materials arrive. Larger outdoor kitchen buildouts or multi-structure projects take longer, and we give you a realistic timeline upfront.

Do I need a permit for a patio cover in Fort Worth?

Yes, in most cases. Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield, and the majority of Tarrant County cities require a building permit for any attached patio cover or pergola. CertiPro handles all permit applications and inspections — you don't visit a permitting office.

What's the difference between a patio cover and a pergola?

A patio cover is a solid or insulated roof structure that blocks sun and rain completely. An insulated aluminum cover also reduces heat transfer, keeping the covered area noticeably cooler. A pergola has an open-lattice or beam-style roof that provides partial shade without full weather protection. For Fort Worth summers, most homeowners who want genuine shade choose an insulated cover.

Can you build on an existing concrete slab?

Most of the time, yes. We assess the existing slab during the in-home estimate — thickness, condition, and whether it's designed to handle post footings. If the slab isn't structurally adequate, we'll tell you upfront and quote what's needed. We don't start work and discover surprises after the fact.

Do you build outdoor kitchens and entertainment areas?

Yes. We build full outdoor living spaces — covered structures, outdoor kitchens with built-in grills, countertop areas, lighting, and ceiling fans. Everything under the same contractor. One estimate covers the whole project.
